Scully Signal has been supplying overfill sensors that meet the American Association of Railroad (AAR) Specification for Tank Cars for over a decade. These sensors are used as part of an overfill system, including a controller that gives indication that the sensor has been triggered, therefore the product loading should be stopped to avoid a spill. The controller also has a built-in relay that would be triggered by the sensor changing state, giving the ability to automate the shutdown process removing operator error from the equation. Each AAR approved thermistor sensor, SP-BLU/MHC must pass a high-pressure test by Scully manufacturing team before being shipped to the customer.
